The Teacher, The Alumnus and the Early Bird

Dear Families, Friends and Association Members

Welcome again to our growing team and our equally growing dialogue with parents. This week football within the curriculum was a hot (and welcome) topic, with appreciation for our inclusive and global perspective on football being a distinctive departure from traditional Waldorf provision in the UK.

Early bird discounts of 10% for the first year’s fees are being offered to all pupils who register before 31st May 2021, and those who register early will also have the opportunity to offer early input into the shape of the curriculum during introductory meetings with our Vice Principal, Kathryn de Ferrer. To take advantage of the early bird rate, apply for a place at Wynstones before 31st May, either in person or online.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I wanted to introduce colleagues from our growing community who are bringing expertise and vision to the school’s offering to parents and children.

Anita Hempenius

Anita Hempenius, our new Inclusion Manager (a SENDCo plus) who has joined us from Wales, has hit the ground running and is beginning to hold induction meetings for parents who have enrolled for this coming September.

Anita has been immersed in the basics of sign language this week along with the rest of the team, raising our awareness…read more about Anita here.

Richard Aronowitz-Mercer

Richard Aronowitz-Mercer is our featured alumnus-Trustee sharing his perspective on decolonialising the curriculum, and diversity and inclusion.

Click on the video above to watch the story of how Richard found himself at Wynstones, and why.

We are very much looking forward to seeing more prospective parents on site this coming Saturday for a more informal Open day drop-in (well, as informal as we can be in these times). We are also having very many conversations with prospective teachers with a remarkable profile of skills, but regretfully can’t share anything just yet.

All best wishes,

Paul and team
