What you might see on an Open Day at Wynstones...

In Kindergarten (3-6 years) a Kindergarten teacher will explain the day and how the children learn through rhythm, imitation and exploring the natural world, the quietness of story-time as the children take the traditional fairy tales deep into their inner world, and the activity as the children go about their business of play. You will see the children during their outside playtime.

In the Lower School (6-14 years) you can see the solid foundations are laid for academic learning as we teach the whole child, ‘Hands, Head and Heart’. Watch as they learn through movement and artistic exploration.

In the Upper School (14-18 years) you will hear the pupils engaged in their morning singing as they prepare for the rigour of the day's academic work. The combined Waldorf and exam curriculum offers the pupils a breadth of experience alongside a study timetable which marks Wynstones out academically.

You can bring your children along if you need to, however it may be a long time for younger children to have to observe and listen to adults talking. We suggest that it is better to introduce younger children to the school at one of our open event days e.g our Advent Fair or Summer Fair.

We normally host Open Days in the Music Room. Coffee is offered at Registration and between tours. There is an opportunity for questions and answers on return to the central location.

Individual Tour

We would advise that you book for an Open Day. If you are unable to do this we can arrange for an individual tour. If you would like to arrange for an individual tour please call our Receptionist Liz Stephenson (01452 429220) who will set up the appointment. With individual tours, we cannot guarantee that teachers will be able to talk to parents directly or that the access to the desired class will be open for viewing.

Please be aware that all visitors to the school will need to book in at Reception on arrival.

Book to Attend an Open Day or Tour

* In our experience young children (under 7 years old) do not enjoy open mornings as it is a long time listening and observing. Please make alternative child care arrangements if you can. There will be opportunities to bring children to the school at other times.
